Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

Bought this as we needed a replacement for our previous French press that had cracked. I liked that it was mostly protected on the outside with the metal frame/basket and since it was Amazon’s Choice with such high reviews it seemed like a slam dunk. However we’ve had it less than two weeks and this morning I was about to put the coffee when the handle partially snapped off in my hand and I almost poured scalding hot coffee all over my other hand (see picture). It seems the handle for the press isn’t soldered on but rather epoxied, which seems like a pour and dangerous design for a high heat application. Anyway, it looks great and it has s great filter design and other perks (ha-ha), but I had to give one star because the handle design is just so dangerous.
