i-Blason vs. Clayco vs. Otterbox
Before my new S8+ arrived, I purchased three cases in hopes that one would be absolutely perfect. First, I tried the Otterbox with little love left over for the brand. The new Otterbox cases do not include a built-in screen protector. I could have lived with that had the case itself actually offered any protection. I found myself scared to drop the phone with the case on. No Bueno. Next, I tried out the Clayco. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the Clayco and still recommend it over the Otterbox but the ultra-smooth backing wasn't for me. I'm clumsy enough as it is so I don't need a slippery backing to make things worse. Otherwise, the Clayco DID have a built-in screen protector and the rubber guard was appreciated. Finally, I made my way to the i-Blason case. This case wins without question. I purchased the black to go with my black S8+ phone. Keep in mind, the rear of the case is CLEAR so your phone shows through. I noticed a difference in the way it handled immediately. The case is sleek and sturdy. It fits my phone like a glove and I don't feel worried about whether or not my phone would survive a drop. The plastic on both the front and rear of the case is sturdy (not at all flimsy) and the rubber offers good grip all the way around the phone. I think my only gripe would be that the rubber is a bit harder and not as rubbery as I'd like for it to feel while gripping the phone. Basically, this case but with the rubber feel of the Clayco case would be equal to the Otterbox Defender series. Go for it. *Update 02/04/18 I dropped my phone for the first time. It fell about 3.5 ft and landed face-down on the asphalt. This case saved my my phone! The built-in screen protector has a tiny, hairline crack in it. That could have been my phone.
