It was time to get rid of a falling apart 8 year old igloo maxcold lunch cooler and opted for the carhartt pretty much only based on the brand. I’m usually a fan of their gear and don’t mind representing it so I took the chance. The dimensions listed seemed very close to my old cooler, and although a bunch of reviewers noted that it was small, I went ahead with it. As it turns out, it is a bit smaller than I expected. Do not expect to work an overtime day out in the field and be stocked up on goodies. You will fit one meal and some ice packs in here. You might be able to stuff the top section with some extra stuff but I’d say it’s more of a snack area. You might even find that you need this area for drinks. I find it a little strange that the top section is only accessible through the outside of the bag, but that may be because on my last one the zipper was inside. There is only one front pocket section that is not exposed to the insulated area. My last cooler had more but again, not a dealbreaker for me as my current situation makes it less necessary to keep everything I might need in my lunchbox. Anyway, it looks nice. It does what it claims to do. It keeps your lunch cold. It’s not big, so just keep that in mind if you’re a union man going out on a 12 hour shift and you bring your own food.
