I ordered this to replace our current humidifier, which sounds like it could be on its last legs when you turn it on. This runs extremely quiet. Compared to the other one, you never even know it's on other than the indicator light. Some cons: the other one has a handle to grab it after you fill it, this does not. It is a slippery thing to hold onto if it's wet from filling. If you get it in black like I did, the white residue from not having replacement filters is visible on it. I am not bothered by this, but if you are anal about such things, get the white one. This is still a better option to replacing filters. All in all, great humidifier!!! I would definitely purchase again!
