Ignore the stupid complaints about a set that hasn’t been released yet. A lot of people do not understand how rights work in the anime industry especially in terms of music licensing. Please buy this to support the official release, don’t be a jerk. Edit (11/12/21): I’m now writing an actual review for the release now that it’s out. GKids really knocked it out of the park with this release and did a fantastic job. The Standard edition only includes the New Dub and Translation which I don’t mind. The new dub can be a bit bland in terms of performances at times, but it is good dub in my opinion and is more closer to the performances of the original Japanese version. I’m still watching the series, but the Subtitles include Song and Signs and subtitles for the Japanese audio. The ending theme is a variation of Rei 1 which to me fits the series alot better. In terms of video quality, it’s also really good; I’ve seen the HD transfer of Evangelion many times before and there is no noticeable drop in video quality. I highly recommend getting this release if you cannot purchase the more expensive versions, it’s very much worth the $40 price tag.
