That's a lot of beeping
Good things:
-This is an attractive appliance.
-The segmented blue LED is easy to read without being too bright.
-The buttons have a good feel and are intuitive to operate.
-The capacity is sufficient that I can fill it up enough for just about any meal or to serve tea to ten people if I want.
-The base is easy to get the kettle onto.
Bad things:
-The kettle beeps every time you do something. Really loudly. Put the kettle on the base, it beeps. Push a button it beeps. Start it brewing it beeps. Finish brewing it beeps. Adjust the temperature it beeps. Really the only time I need it to beep is when it's finished brewing so there needs to be an option to disable the other beeps. Or at least make the button press etc. beeps softer than the finish-brewing beeps. They really are loud. Nobody wants a series of loud beeps early in the morning when other people in the house are sleeping.
-The kettle gets very hot on the outside. Every other electric kettle I've used in the last decade has been cool touch on the outside but this one isn't insulated in any way.
-On the inside of the kettle that plastic part on the inside of the handle is actually a thin tube. I'm sure that if any particulate matter got inside there it would be very difficult to wash out. This makes me concerned about the ongoing sanitation of this kettle.
-The spring on the lid causes the lid to open with such ferocity that it can fling hot water in your face or onto your arm.
-Since the lid is not transparent you can't see where the water is in relation to the spout, so you have to guess when it will start pouring out.
-The electronic components cannot be separated from the kettle so you have to wash the kettle entirely by hand.
