Alpine Rivers makes some fantastic, effective, RFID blocking products. I recently reviewed their RFID-blocking money belt. For those who don't need the waist-pack (which includes a pack of these in the belt), look no further. These pouches will offer the same protection, at lower price, and will fit right into the wallet / purse / murse you carry today. Some things are SO convenient today. No more pulling keys out of your pocket to open or start your car. (For some, no more keys at all.) You don't even have to take your credit card out of your wallet anymore. A simple tap is all it takes to process a payment. Guess what? While you may never have to take your credit card out of your wallet, a thief doesn't even need to take your wallet out of your pocket. A simple tap, brush, or even just pass in close proximity is all it takes for a thief to take money out of your pocket -- digitally. RFID is something I actually spend a lot of time thinking about. And something I've lectured about. As a technologist, and frequent traveler, one of the most embarrassing things that could happen would be to fall prey to RFID credit card or passport "snarfing". In fact, even most of my transit passes from various cities are "tap cards". It's convenient. But also really dangerous. While I have already invested in an RFID blocking wallet, and even an RFID-blocking passport cover, those are expensive, and the options are limited. This package comes with several thin credit card, and passport-sized RFID-blocking pouches. With these, you're protected regardless of wallet you carry. It did my own tests using several passport and credit card RFID scanning apps for Android, and both the money belt and the pouches were 100% effective in blocking signals -- even from my transit passes. The pouches are made from a tear-resistant material, and fit any passport (yes, your passport is "bugged"), or any credit card. This product pays for itself by keeping your money in your pocket. In my book, that's a good thing. I discovered these RFID-blocking sleeves through a promotion encouraging honest reviews. I did receive a discount in order to test this product, but my opinions are honest, unbiased, and in no way incentivised. My hope is that this review will help other consumers make informed purchasing decisions.
