Excellent Night Guards!
When my teeth began to chip due to bruxism, my dentist told me that I needed a night guard. Her price: $300 -- and that's with dental insurance!
Sufficiently frazzled, I decided to look on Amazon to see if I could find something cheaper. My first try was with a company that sold a product that it advertised as being useable for night guards, sports mouth guards, and whitening trays. Despite the fact that they provided me with three different guards and even had a video that demonstrated how to mold the guard, I was unable to get a guard that was comfortable for me. They were too bulky and engaged my gag reflex (this despite trying a bottom guard).
So, I returned to Amazon for another gander at what was available. I came across J&S, which seemed to offer reasonable prices for a "professional" night guard. I have to admit that I was skeptical about how a mail-order night guard might turn out, but I really didn't want to deal with any additional cheap, do-it-yourself products.
When I received my kit from J&S, it seemed it might be a bit complicated. But it really wasn't. I made my impressions and sent them off. Within five days, I had my night guard in hand. Although mine required an adjustment (I have an unusual bite), the adjustment was easy for them to make. And the night guard is great! It is SO MUCH BETTER than the $30 night guards. It is thin and fits wonderfully. After being unable to sleep with the $30 night guard (see "gag reflex"), I was able to sleep the whole night through on the very first night with the J&S night guard.
I will definitely use J&S again for any future night guard needs I may have.
I have included pictures to demonstrate the differences between the $30 night guard and the J&S night guard. I hope you find them helpful.
