Long-lasting, no white cast, good mineral formula, no breakouts on sensitive skin.
I'm a swim instructor and lifeguard at the YMCA, and I spend between 4 and 7 seven hours in the sun and pool 5 days a week. I also have incredibly sensitive skin (some chemical sunscreens make me break out) with rosacea, cystic hormonal breakouts, dryness, and T zone oiliness, so I've got a lot on my face thatI'm interested in covering up. Many of the Neutrogena sunscreens run into my eyes when I get in the pool to teach, and they wash off after an hour and I burn badly. When I reapply it, even after waiting 15-20 min before getting my face wet to let it 'soak in', it still runs into my eyes and I usually burn through many of them. This product doesn't run because it's a very thick consistency, and since it's zinc and not a chemical sunscreen I don't break out as badly. Usually zinc sunscreens leave a white cast, but since this is tinted, it doesn't leave the white cast and actually helps keep my skin tone even in the pool where I don't have the option of wearing concealer or something to cover my breakouts. It's so thick that it stays on even if you rub your face with your hands, and it does take a couple washes to fully remove from your face. One thing I will say: This doesn't come in different shade options - there is one single shade and it's very obviously designed for light to medium skin tones. A person with a medium to deep skin tone would probably not be able to wear this without a pale/orange cast on the skin. I'm quite pale with lots of redness, so when I use it it looks very tan on me because I'm a little too pale for the shade, but once I rub it in it isn't as intense as it looks when you first see it out of the tube. It appears orange in some lighting, but even on me, once it's properly rubbed in it isn't orange anymore. I started using this about 2 months ago. My skin has been difficult recently, so I have been getting some new breakouts while using this product over the last two months, however, I'm fairly sure its because of hormones, not the sunscreen.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone with light to medium skin tones who wants a thick, powerful sunscreen that lasts and that's not chemical, but without the white cast.
