The back of the wedge is 3 inches (7.5 cm) and the front of the wedge is 1.5 inches (3.75 cm). I am using it to see better over the hood of my car as my spine is shortening. Originally, I tried a pad that was 3 inches high both in the front and back, but I found that it was difficult to shift gears as my legs were also 3 inches higher and it was hard to push down the pedals. (fix one thing, cause a problem elsewhere.) The wedge is a much better choice as my legs are not elevated as much and it is much easier to reach and push down the clutch. The bottom has tan non-slip material that works well to keep the pad in place as I move in and out of the truck. In short, this is a comfortable, plush pad that is boosting me up in my car seat so that I am safer and I am enjoying driving with this wedge.
