Some of you won’t make it
(I did end up purchasing a bucket for a friend in Vermont who would otherwise starve when she gets snowed in for the winter. The four stars is because a bucket of something did indeed show up to her house)
People are prepping. How do I know? I just got a flyer from Sam's Club and they are advertising $300 off on emergency food storage kits. I went online to check it out and it is intriguing. A company called Augason farms, apparently a farm with no water as everything is dried or powdered, has quite a line of prepackaged products in plastic buckets. One person for a year, four people for a year and so on. It says their recipes are tested and proven and have a shelf life of twenty years!
I thought about buying a four person kit but I think Faithe's idea of an emergency might be that she didn't want to shop. I also thought that even though their recipes are tested and proven they could still really suck. In fact I expect them to suck. But if you wait for the apocalypse to crack into these you really have no recourse. Not even Yelp!
Fortunately there are a few reviews posted. I only read the reviews for the Breakfast Bucket and they were mostly good. One person who actually uses the food describes it as "tasty". One person who is certain to be among the first to die when the apocalypse happens inquired as to whether they had any gluten free options. I did not see a GF bucket, vegan bucket, paleo bucket, Atkins bucket, beach body bucket, preservative free bucket, a halal bucket, or an organic free range fair trade bucket. Maybe I didn't look long enough, but if any of these exist I don't want to know. I'd rather have something to look forward to.
