I’ve read the other reviews for this product and for the most part, they are very positive. The ones that talk about removing the plastic part tho… ARE YOU NUTS?!? This heating gun gets very hot very fast. It’s easy to use and quick to get the job done. Love the stand that it came with and I ESPECIALLY LOVE the PLASTIC PART that is added to it. It (the plastic cautionary piece) doesn’t get hot, didn’t melt and isn’t in the way of my projects. It is NOT designed to be removed for any reason. The metal part it is protecting is probably hotter than burnt boots, but I’m happy not to have to find that out. To the creator(s), thank you for thinking of SAFETY FIRST. There would be a lot of degreed burns if not for that one little piece. You are greatly appreciated. To those of you who are removing the plastic piece and then deciding to come to the comments to encourage OTHERS to remove it also so you aren’t burnt alone… STOP IT. That’s selfish and rude. Just cause you want to be adventurous, that doesn’t give you the right to try to get others to go along with you. Great product though. If it goes out, I’m buying another with the knowledge of knowing that the company thinks about their customers first when it comes to safety and precautions.
