My 12-year-old daughter was very happy about receiving this. She loves looking at the moon and stars, so we got it for her birthday. It is easy to set up and she got the hang of it very quickly. It was difficult to focus at first, but once she got the hang of it she was able to make out a full moon. This is super portable, you can tote the Telescope around almost as easily. The 5x24 finderscope is a little difficult to get spotted in properly, but with a little time and patience you can lock it in nicely. You can easily get really great views of the moon. The included eyepieces are low quality but long focal length refractors are forgiving. The 3x Barlow is ok. I would say it is very good for educational purposes. I would recommend this for little ones who are showing an interest in their surroundings and who are keen to learn. It looks fairly durable as well.
