This is a great looking bag, the insert makes a sizable but handy cross-body purse, and there are some really useful pockets on either end, plus the snap-button pocket in front (great for a phone and sunglasses, keys, etc). It’s the perfect size if you need a little more space but you don’t want an enormous bag. So that’s cool, but HOLY WOW IT STINKS. After reading a few of the other reviews before purchasing, I figured maybe a few reviewers were particularly sensitive to certain smells. Nope. This thing smells like death. BUT, it is a well-constructed leather-ish looking hobo bag for $30 bucks. I’m gonna stick it out for now. I currently have the bag and the insert in the freezer, each stuffed with a coffee filter full of baking soda. Hope to exorcise the evil outta there. Will update, hopefully with the news that this bag is no longer peeling the paint off my walls. **** Update: the smell is almost gone! This bag IS really well constructed; it has survived brutal over-stuffing and pretty rough wear from a recent trip, plus rainy streets and jammed subway rides.
