Actually, VERY VERY pleased! I have written a detailed review for those considering buying this unit.
So- I thought it only fair to write a bit of a review, for the benefit of a prospective buy of this unit...
It's fair because, I, have benefited very much from reading the other reviews of people that have bought this item,
and those reviews have always been extremely helpful before I make a purchase on this site.
A lot of reviews can make all the difference between being on the line about whether to buy or not buy an item.
So- for those of you on the line, this is for you.
*Just wanted to mention- I am not an extremely difficult customer to please, but I absolutely can tell the difference between a quality item, and one that was seriously just a pure waste of money- so, I hope my review is detailed, honest, and directly to the point for your benefit.
I am actually VERY pleased with this BriteLeafs- 2- 1 Aroma Diffuser. Details:
The unit is perhaps 8-10 inches tall, give or take, has the circumference similar to a very wide candle,
perhaps a radius of 4 inches across.
First off- the unit has a degree of simple elegance (kind of like an Apple product)
It does not look like a cheap ornament in the room. I happen to like things that have useful value,
and have at least a look of artistic merit.
It has little pattern silhouette on the side of what appears to be a floral arrangement.
(appropriate, considering what the unit does)
Others on here who have commented on not understanding the instructions???
I have absolutely NO idea what they are talking about.
This unit took me all of 5 seconds to figure out how to use it. Seriously.
Paying for something at the store with your ATM card is probably more complicated than this thing.
Yes- I did read the manuall, just to be thorough...but it actually wasn't even necessary.
It's good to flip through it though, just so you know everything.
Another thing- people commented that the manual was 'hard to understand' or in broken
Chinese English?? Again, I have NO idea what they are talking about.
I am as fluent of an English speaker as any American should be, and the manual is simple to read,
and is in perfect English- but again (if you have 1/4 of a brain, this thing is simple to use)
So- moving forward. The most IMPORTANT thing- Operation AND Performance.
Does this thing do WHAT WE WANT IT TO DO. and is it easy to use?
The answer is YES AND YES.
First of all. You add the appropriate amount of (purified) water into the provided measuring cup.
You can't acrew this up.
Hopefully you have purchased only the highest quality essential oils, like at Whole Foods,
It did come with a bottle of Lavender oil, but I'm going to give it away- I'm sure it's probably not that great.
The unit only has TWO buttons.
One simple button for the light choices. The light can be turned on or off without using the diffuser part.
There are, interestingly enough, SEVERAL light choices. Just push the button to select from
white, bluish, deep red, deep green, light blue....etc.... Pretty cool how good the light is...considering
I couldn't see any light bulbs or anything else in the bottom of the part where you put the water/oils into.
You unscrew the top of the unit, small turn counter clock wise, pull the top off,
you put the appropriate water combined with your essential oil choices ( uh...this takes 15 seconds and couldn't be easier)
Screw the lid back on which takes all of 2 seconds.
And then the other button- hold it for a two seconds. It turns on...push it 1,2,3, 0r 4 more times to select how long you want it on.
There- now you know exactly how to use it.
Performance.
Interestingly enough, half a second after you turn it on....vapor already starts shooting out of it.
I really don't get how it works that fast...but it does. In the old days when you turned on a Vick's Vapor rub unit,
I remember the unit's heat element taking like, I don't know....10 minutes to warm up until vapor comes out.
Not with this. In 2 seconds vapor shoots out the top.
I have stuck my nose/ face right in it, and it is solid vapor with the essence of the oils I put in --
** good idea ** if you have a cold or flu- you can put in few drops Eucalyptus and Peppermint Essential oil)
And it will be shooting vapor into your face instantly- Actually, kind of remarkable.
There is a sort of tranquil sound of the water gurgling in there as it's doing whatever it's doing.
So, with the look of the unit, the excellence of the light feature, the soft sound of water-
Esthetically- absolutely no complaints at all.
The unit is a little on the small side, but that's ok, if we consider performance-
It's nice to be able to put it anywhere, nightstand next to bed, or family room, study, office, and not have it stand out like a weird item On the contrary. It would fit in nicely in a study or office as a nice little addition to a desk or table.
The only single thing about this unit that caught my attention, about whether I liked it or not...and another reviewer on here mentioned it...(this person actually gave a really bad review over this issue- which I kind of understand, because it IS VERY important) if not the most important thing.
The unit shoots the vapor about mage six inches above the top of it...and then the vapor kind of drifts down...
IS this weird. I think we call that gravity, don't we. It does NOT shoot the vapor a few feet into the air, so don't expect that.
It shoots somewhat of a small puff of vapor which will naturally go up, and then drift down.
The key is that it is shooting the vapor into the air in your room, and can be doing it for up to 180 minutes,
so, it would be hard to be in the room (normal size room ) and not smell it.
I think the issue is, is the amount of vapor going to be satisfactory for your needs or not. I thought about it too.
I am putting mine on the nightstand next to my bed so the vapor will be the airspace next to me so I can utilize what
it puts out while I sleep, nap, etc.
The vapor is consistent and will not stop at all for the whole time you turn it on.
Is it a LARGE amount that it puts out. I would say no. Is it a tiny amount that it puts out...definteily no.
It is kind of proportionate to the size of the unit, so keep your expectations right for what this is.
Do you remember those units in the past that they have to diffuse essential oils, the old fashioned way,
by a top and bottom unit, where you put the oils, etc on the top part, and a candle on the bottom?
Ok- I really think this is a leap into the future from what those things did. I could only detect a hint
from those candle burning kinds. I was never that impressed.
This thing I believe does a MUCH better job of launching the infused vapor into the room air, and it's performance, appearance, and overall quality seems to be in order. If I had any other complaints, believe me, I would tell you.
But- on a much simpler note- Let's say that you only bought this thing for when you have a cold, and you want to
infuse some Eucolyptus or other oils to infuse right into your face and nose to inhale, like you would with a Vick's vapor rub
machine. I think this thing does that perfectly! In seconds the vapor can be in your nose for some deep inhales and potential cold relief. I had it on near my bed this morning and rolled on my side, and stuck my nose in the vapor and inhaled it directly, and I felt instant calming relief from the Lavender and Chamomile oils I had put in the water-
So- that's all I can really say- I hope this was helpful to you-
Overall, I am actually very happy- This thing is not a huge beast that will blast your whole room with the vapor,
but it certainly does a LOT considering it's small size and not unreasonable price tag.
Good luck!
