We are one of those "home-school" "get back to natural" "make everything ourselves" strange families. Our kids desire to participate at a young age and we try to encourage that. These knives allow that. We let the 2 year old to use them very successfully, the typical 5 year old boy does well, and has proven over and over that the knives don't cut through skin. (Yet they cut chicken, still trying to figure that one out!). And they are precise enough (like a metal knife) that the persnickety 6 year old will use them. We have been using these knives for over a year. We have cut every conceivable thing with them. The only things that have been remotely iffy have been tomatoes and bread cut by the younger two (probably the "squeeze" factor). They have been washed in the dishwasher, pried a paint can open, used as a sword until the villain was apprehended, hacked thru cardboard, cut frozen meat, sawed thru a blackberry bramble, and they still look and cut as good as new. Curious Chef has created a masterpiece!
