It seems that the old-style rubber mats are unavailable; at least, I can't find them. As a result, the GORILLA GRIP (R) is my third bath tub mat after buying brands that either don't stick or are as slick to walk on as the tub surface (and then some). This one, however, is a definite keeper. I bought the clear one, and the top surface is textured in a way that I could dance in the shower if I wanted to (which I don't actually plan to do). And, in spite of the fact that my tub has textured stripes, the suction cups are so plentiful and secure that it adheres well immediately after laying it down on a wet tub and pressing slightly, and I feel perfectly safe. Looks like I'm done shopping for bath tub mats! I read another review that said something about the initial smell. Yes, when you open the package, there is a bit of a normal plasticky smell, but it goes away immediately.
