Finally found "The One!"
I knew that if I just kept looking, with enough patience and money, I would eventually find the perfect product that could tackle the insane amount of dog hair and dead, winter grass in my house.
My house has wood plank tile floors that are very dark brown. They show everything. We have 3 kids who have no idea that the food doesn't belong on the floors or in the couch. We have 3 dogs, 1 Newfoundland (long, fluffy, chunks of hair) and 2 Blue Heelers (short, coarse, thin bunches of hair). I can literally sweep/mop/vacuum at night and by the time I wake up it looks like it's been a few days since I touched the floors. It's super defeating.
Here's what else I've tried:
- Sweeping (This is effective but kills my back. It also takes several passes because it leaves fine hairs behind.)
- Microfiber 'Mop' (Just no. These things can't handle the amount of hair I have in my house.)
- EyeVac (This still requires sweeping, but hurts a little less w/o the dustpan pickups. it also clogs with things my dogs chew up.)
- Robotic Vacuum (These things always get stuck under my furniture and constantly beep because they fill up too fast.)
- Dyson upright (before the ball ones, works well on carpet, not for corners or next to baseboards)
- Bissell Pet Hair Eraser (This is an awesome vacuum, but better for carpet and requires changing attachments often.)
This is my first canister vacuum. It's super cute. It's easy to setup and matches my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, which I now keep upstairs, which has the only 3 rooms with carpet. The cord is not super long, but very reasonable. I don't like changing outlets so I just attach an extension cord. It is lightweight but feels sturdy. At first I thought it would be too heavy to carry around but I found myself doing just that and forgetting I had it in my hand. I feel like I could plop it in and old backpack with a hole for the cords lol and it would be even more amazing. The suction blew my mind! I was fully expecting large items to get clogged, but to my surprise, this thing is really powerful. It was able to suck up dryer sheets and fuzzy remnants of toys that my dogs tear up on a regular basis. The Zing was able to get right up to the baseboards and corners, and go completely under furniture like my low, oversized sofa. I usually have to sweep or vacuum around the whole house and double back with the vacuum wand. I was able to do the entire downstairs in no time and only filled up twice.
So if you have dogs or kids, and hardwood/tile floors.. do not hesitate to get this vacuum. It's way cheaper than the others I've bought but outperforms them all!
