Actually not bad.
So I decided to take the plunge and start playing with epoxy tumblers. I was too lazy to build a turner so I just bought this one from Amazon. It really works pretty decently. I've left it on for several hours and aside from getting warm, there were no issues.
There are two wand attachments and two different sizes of foam (think softer pool noodles). The wands have a predrilled hole in them that they slide onto the turner attachment and then you insert a metal screw with nut on the bottom to secure the wand in place and help it turn. You definitely need to attach the screw/nut to hold it in or you run the risk of the wand not turning properly. There is a black plastic/rubber sleeve that moves. Be careful to either take it off or move it out of the way of the opening in the wood or else it will keep the wand from moving properly.
This is definitely not meant for commercial use, it's smaller than ones that can be made with microwave motors but it really works well for people like me who just want to practice and make gifts.
