It lives up to its claims!
I've waited a while for this review while I put the scrubber through a good workout. The other night I made beef stew in my cast iron skillet, and did two things wrong. I let the gravy reduce to the point that some of the veggies stuck to the bottom, and I didn't clean it right away. When I did go to clean it, all those stuck veggie pieces were nice and rock hard. Some hot water, a couple of minutes of not real vigorous scrubbing, and back to smooth and shiny again. I used to use a stiff plastic bristle brush and a plastic scrubbie to clean the pan. Both would get real grungy and were hard to clean. They are now gone. This chainmail scrubber is all I need. I have found that the easiest way to use it is to pull the corners together so it forms a sort of ball. It is easier to direct and focus one's effort that way. Edit 12/31/14: Just a quick addition. The instructions say to clean your pan while it is still warm. That's great, but make sure it isn't too warm - those metal links quickly pick up any heat from the pan and can get uncomfortably warm very quickly. Edit 4/5/15: I cleaned the glass carousel tray from my microwave today. Being typically male, it had a big buildup of burned on food like gravy that didn't want to come off. A minute or two of swirls with my cleaner and perfectly clean tray - with NO scratches on the glass. That is how gentle this cleaner can be. I wouldn't use it on non-stick coatings, but Pyrex and Corning ware would be just fine.
