Works great, Shop Vac bucket stays empty, no pressure loss. Be aware you'll need your own hardware, but easy to come by.
This is one fantastic product. I was skeptical in paying the high entry price, but the results speak for themselves. I picked up as much as I could and then checked the vac and saw nothing in it. I was floored, so I checked the bucket under the DD and it was all there. Just amazing. This DIY kit is only the molded plastic. I wasn't going to spend an extra $50 to get everything else when I could get my own for under $10. The bucket, bolts, washers, rubber gasket (plumbing aisle in a big box store) were easy enough to come by. People are complaining about the adapters needed to work with your vac is also easy to come by; just get the rubber adapters in the plumbing aisle in a big box store and you're all set. You can see my setup below. I do agree that the bucket lid is flimsy, so I also created a 3/4" plywood support ring underneath, used silicone, and reattached. It is super strong now and rigid. I look forward to using this on a regular basis, especially sanding without any pressure loss. I can't believe I waited this long to get it.
