I am going to be honest and say that we were a little hesitant in purchasing this machine at first. Before buying any type of machine for the house, I always peek at the lower reviews to see common flaws or complaints and a few people mentioned the machine leaking or easy to break. (I have been burned too many times in the past so I'm very careful) I watched videos on youtube and that inspired me to take a chance and purchase this steam cleaner. And guess what? We LOVE this steam cleaner & I just finished using it before writing this up :) We had to find a cleaning machine to help out because we have an aging dog that is having a couple "accidents" every week on the carpet. Getting a pro out once per month started to get expensive so we wanted to find a home unit that actually worked and was easy to clean up. This is it! We use the recommended soap, very hot water, and this thing works like a champ. Carpet comes out clean and soft, not stiff from dried soap, as other people have mentioned here. Plus it is SUPER easy to clean up. I waited for 2 full months before submitting my comments here to make sure all was going well and this machine rocks! If you need a home machine, take a good look at this one.
