Very large surge protector with lots of room, but read below!
FIRST - YES, IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO PLUG THINGS INTO THIS SURGE PROTECTOR INITIALLY. But, there is a way to fix this. The first time plugging anything into this surge protector is very difficult. But once this initial resistance is "broken", future plug ins are very easy! I would highly recommend (before using the surge protector) plugging the item's own 3 prong cord into each outlet until that initial plug resistance is broken. I found it easier to break the resistance by wiggling the plug side to side parallel to the long axis of the surge protector whilst pushing down. The connect is very tight and feels very secure even AFTER this initial break in period.
The built in outlet safety covers are very handy and easy to use. They slide back and forth with a nice click at each position. These covers are so easy to use, that a child could operate them...
Also, included with the item are 2 cords/cables: 1 telephone cord and 1 cable tv/antennae cable. This, if anything, should encourage you to use the cable and telephone surge suppression features of this unit.
The power cord is of the right angle/low profile variety. It is quite long and pretty easy to bend into shape.
The construction seems nice, but it sure doesn't feel like a Tripp Lite Isobar. But then again, it is prettier.
My only complaint so far is that 8 outlets along the one edge are VERY close together. So close that it is hard to place 2 usb/plug type adapters next to each other - such as an iPhone charger/usb plug next to a iPad charger/usb plug. Anything bigger than a standard 3 prong cord might get a little tight. I suppose you could alternate a charger/plug next to a typical 3 prong plug.
