I bought this for MacBook Air because it doesn't have a DVD player. I was so excited to watch DVDs/movies when I purchased this item. Once I plugged it into my computer and inserted a DVD, the movie wasn't playing. I tried multiple DVDs and it didn't work, which got me so disappointed. So I finally did my research and read some of the product's reviews, and I learned that some computers don't have the software to watch movies. So on google I searched up 'VLC media player' as some reviews said to do, and I downloaded it. Then I plugged in the DVD player into my laptop again, inserted a movie, and there you go it began playing the movie! This item works, but you might have to download a software such as VLC to be able to watch movies.
