Brilliant!
If you're busy but want to eat good food, buy this now! So far we've made chickpeas-- from unsoaked chick peas-- in under an hour, mixed batches of rice, a chicken tagine and a fish curry that took no time flat. All of these tasted rich, had fantastic texture, and left us amazed. Major kudos to Instant Pot for including an up-to-date recipe book inside using recipes from all the online mavens of creative pressure cooking. Recipes are clear, well-considered and current; from the recipes you can check out the writers' books and sites online for even more pressure cooking goodness.
Pros:
Good price point for all the great things this machine does!
Stainless steel bowl-- goodbye thin aluminum and scorched rice!
Browning. You can actually brown your meats and saute your onions and veggies right there in the bowl!
EASY. I thought there would have to be lots of trial and error to turn out a good batch of rice, but this pot has done a great job.
Cons:
I didn't know this pot existed sooner. So many wasted hours and dirty pots and pans!
This is a great product. Time will tell if it holds up, of course, but from what I've read it is solid.
