I have used this for three years on a 20 gallon long, a 55 gallon and a 75 gallon (with a little make shift help) and its still going strong. This Penn Plax product works as it should. I have Texas Map Turtles and they are small in size their whole lives so this tank is a decent size to have them all chilling out in their own little areas. When the light is on they like to sit out on the top and another may chill out on the ramp. Some turtles get spooked and will run away when your approach so the clear turtle topper may not give some turtles the comfort they need. As we all know some turtles are scary and run away and some will come up to you. I like to make the turtle topper more comfortable for those guys by experimenting with some substrate and I wrapped darker material around the sides where there is a lot of people traffic. I also have this by the window so the clear top also allows the natural sun to come in and do its job better than any bulb would. One thing you have to watch out for is burning the top of the cage with your light. It will soften over time if its way too close. There's no way the turtles can get out the top unless you have a Houdini turtle but I have to force mine open and closed because of this but it still works fine. The one thing I wish was made different about the turtle topper would be the ramp. I wish it was much longer. I like to have an open top on my tank so I dont fill the water level all the way or inches to the top so they cant get out. I also ike the water level about the same size as the bottom hang out bar because my turtles like to sit on top of each other under there and take in the window sunight as well but when its around that level its not far enough for the ramp to make it into the water. I had a real big plant in the water that would help them climb but I still wish the ramp was able to extend if needed. I also wish they made one it much longer so I can put more substrate/land/dirt/moss and maybe some double ramp action on both sides as opposed to one. I think it would be great to connect two tanks together long ways. Maybe have one tank nothing but water filled to the brim for deep swimming and the other with a lot of plants and tiny fish for discovery and play time. Overall it is a good product and I would recommend it to turtle lovers
