This is a fantastic aromatherapy diffuser. In fact, I would say it's the best one I have owned so far, for a number of reasons. 1) You can run the lights without turning on the ultra-sonic misters. For me this is amazing, because I use it as a 'mood light' in the bedroom. 2) Continuing from the first point, I can choose from over a dozen color combinations and lock that color in for a beatiful night light, or I can turn it on to cycle through all the colors. 3) When I add a few drops of scented oil, this unit puts out the most mist I have seen of any diffuser, ever. The whole apartments smells like mint or whatever flavor I choose to put in there. Goodbye pet smells or cooking smells. I imagine if I was a smoker, it would eliminate that too. 4) Last but not least is the auto-shut off feature. In some of my other units, if the water runs out, the motor keeps going, and the unit will burn out. With this one, once the water runs dry, it auto-turns off.
