Good desk for the price - use wood glue to strengthen the assembly, and read the specs before buying!
This is a decent desk, and it's just what I needed for a small computer setup in my basement. I noticed a lot of low ratings due to the size, with reviewers saying "smaller than it looks" and other similar comments. Measurements are provided in the 2nd photo on this listing, so PLEASE read them before you buy it! The size not being exactly what was expected based entirely off a quick glance is no reason to leave a 1 star review, and it needlessly hurts the rating.
Now, going onto my own comments, the reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the finish of the desk. The panels have some minor chips and scratches around them due to somewhat loose packaging, giving it an almost pre-owned appearance. It's not enough for me to send it back, but the manufacturer could do a better job of packing to make sure this doesn't happen.
Despite the minor damage, the desk looks nice when assembled and is sturdier than expected! Aside from the metal screws and locks, the desk is made entirely from light weight particle board with plastic feet and hollow plastic tubes for the post at the end of the shelves. Not a real high quality feel, but hey, it's a $30 desk! You can't get solid wood panels at this price without building from scratch. It's not rock solid like a bigger, heavier desk, but it doesn't wobble either unless intentionally shaken. While building, I used a drop of wood resin glue on each screw and dowel to increase the sturdiness of the build, and it's all holding together nice and tight!
If all you need is a small desk, and don't mind something with a cheaper feel, this is great desk! If you need something larger or want something that feels real heavy duty, pay more than $30 or $40.
