There's a reason this is the #1 plunger on Amazon. Until you have a big Thanksgiving party at your house and need your toilets to function the entire time guests are there, you might not recognize the urgency of an always-working plunger that doesn't require a small upper-body workout to dislodge the blockage. Also, even if your momentary problem *does* require a bit of oomph, the light weight of the plunger and the especially light weight of the handle make it a breeze to up the effort and get everything back to normal. All that aside, this plunger has two features which put it above the rest - first, this plunger with its flexible rubber won't do that thing some other plungers do, where it'll get stuck in the "down" position and suddenly whip back to normal, flicking all that lovely water (and maybe more) around the bowl (or worse). Second, since it doesn't have any reservoirs around the bottom of the rubber, there's less post-plunge cleaning and no concern about water being retained inside itself. A few swirls around the clean, post-flush water, some smacks against the inside of the bowl to dry it, and you're good to go. Previous plungers I've owned require a little shimmy dance over the bowl to get the water out, and even then as things settle the water tends to puddle up inside. Can't happen with this one. Buy it.
