Yum! To spread happiness, I gotta share my Taro recipe :)
This tastes just like the bubble tea from my favorite Vietnamese restaurant! I bought the 2.2 lb taro powder, 2.2 lb boba tapioca pearls, and 172 count bubble tea straws as a package that Amazon recommended for about $32. It's only been four days since I've received this package, but I've made 10 bubble teas for family and friends and there's still plenty left! Here's what I do to make my bubble tea. Boba Tapioca Pearls 1. Boil a whole bunch of tapioca pearls for exactly 5 minutes in a small pot (or however many minutes it says on your bag). 2. Take a scoop of boba with a cooking spoon and drain the water from the spoon. 3. Place the scoop of boba in a bowl and coat it with 1/2 - 1 tablespoon of sugar, then mix. This will be added to your bubble tea. 4. Drain the rest of the water from the pot. Refrigerate the leftover tapioca pearls in a container. 5. When you're ready to make more bubble tea, take one scoop of boba and place them in a bowl with 1-2 tablespoons of water. 6. Microwave the bowl for 30 seconds to add heat and to soften the tapioca pearls. This avoids the entire boiling process when you have extras on reserve! Taro Bubble Tea Recipe - one serving (16 oz. smoothie blender cup) 1 1/2 cups of ice 2 tablespoons Coffee Mate Original powder creamer 3 tablespoons taro powder 1 cup of milk Mix the powder, milk, and ice together with a spoon to avoid the "grainy-ness" that some of the other reviews were talking about. I blend the whole thing for about 5-10 seconds. Then, I add my sugared tapioca pearls at the end. Enjoy!
