I researched just about every ice chest out there. I got caught up in the yeti trend. I even looked at products similar to Yeti. Then I remembered my childhood. Simple ice chests were involved in all the wonderful memories I have. I recently took this ice chest fishing in 85 degree temps. I put one small bag of ice in it with some cold drinks and had cold beverages all day for my friends and I. Did it matter if it stayed cold for 5-7 days? For me no. When I got home, I dumped out some water and about half a bag of ice. If you’re a hunter, and you need to drive a thousand miles with what you’ve killed on ice, and you can’t stop to freshen up the ice when you get fuel, then yeah, buy an ice chest that costs five times as much. I’m not Walt Disney, so I don’t worry about cryogenically freezing my cold drinks. This ice chest is solid, and for about a month, it out performs what I expect. I price shopped local box stores and the price I got this at beat the prices of the competition. I had shipping issues in the past, but amazon made it right. Plenty of people love the black finish too.
