Mother of all gel polish sample packs...seriously
Here you are, scrolling through Amazon, looking for a gel startup kit. You're reading these reviews, hoping to find something that costs less than a manicure.
After all, you're trying to SAVE money by not making frequent trips to the salon, right?
Well, generally, a standard bottle of gel polish is upwards of $12 each.
In order to have the basics, you'll need a base coat, (assuming you skip a white or grey base color) one color just to start with, and a topcoat.
At $12 each, your total for all three bottles is $36, and you have just ONE color to use. Add in a lamp, and you might as well have just gone to get a mani-pedi from a spa.
Ouch.
Enter this product.
Twenty colors in different shades and colors, including the basic staples (black, white, grey), and a gold and a silver glitter.
Oh, and did they mention that you get a base coat, a matte top coat, and a gel top coat in addition to these 20 different colors?
To address the other reviewers complaining about the size of the bottles in this pack:
Let's do some more basic math.
The size of each color is (very clearly) represented in the product description and photos: 5mL.
The base coat and top coats are in 7.5mL bottles, which means that the total amount of this product bundle is 122.5mL.
That means that you're paying roughly $0.24 cents per mL of this product.
That bottle of gel polish that we talked about before?
At $12 for a 9mL bottle, you're paying $1.34 per mL.
Let's not forget that typically, a sample pack is used for trying new products to see if you like them.
Do you really want 20 full size bottles of sample colors that you individually didn't chose?
The presentation of the product is also very impressive. All of the bottles came packaged neatly in Styrofoam trays and packed securely into a well designed box.
This brand also takes their packaging seriously. The presentation is professional and clean, and does not attempt to mimic other brands to draw in sales.
After losing my entire collection of gel polishes in a move, disgruntled, I took to Amazon to attempt to recover my pride. I found this product, and I'm certainly pleased that I did.
