Like a cheat code for seed germination
If you’re on the fence about trying a heating mat or feel it’s an unnecessary luxury...hear me out. I’ve previously used a combination of water soaking, paper towel method, jiffy pellets, root riots, or placing directly into soil when germinating seeds. The fastest methods establish initial tap roots from seed within 48-72 hours (water soak and paper towel) which then has to be carefully transferred to another medium (jiffy, root root, soil, etc.) and wait for the “seed pop” as it sprouts from the growing medium. This can usually take another 48-72 hours depending on the environment of the medium and surrounding environment.
Once I started using this heat mat, I’ve produced a personal best “seed pop” from the growing medium within 58 hours! I’ve attached a few pictures to show my results. These work fantastic with the plastic jiffy pellet houses and makes a perfect humid/warm environment for the seeds to sprout quickly. I highly recommend giving this mat a try if you would like to cut your germination times by a few days.
