I haven't bought a new eyelash curler in years & had been using the same brand for about 20 years. Then, Shu Uemura was the "gold standard" & I stuck with it for years. However, this time, it was time to do some reseach. Based on reviews I decided to try Brilliant Beauty & it was an excellent choice. It's smoother, easier to hold & use, works quickly with no pinching, so far. Definitely a great choice & since I got the rose gold, it matches my new brushes & pretties up my make up table. Definitely will buy this as my replacement when the time comes. You should really give it a try.
