This roller saved me SO MUCH TIME in painting the entire interior of my house.
I recently purchased a house that was lavender, yes lavender, throughout the entire interior (the grey walls looked purple under the LED lights), so I needed a full repaint of every room of the house. I purchased this despite some mixed reviews and HOLY CRAP am I glad I did.
I went through 9 gallons of paint and 4 different colors over the course of 3 days of painting. This meant I had multiple times cleaning it out and multiple periods the paint drying out. Needless to say, this thing got it's workout.
The bad first:
There was some slight leaking from the handle on day 1. It was very slight and made more of a mess on my hand than anything. This went away completely after cleaning it out the first time. I'm not sure why. I didn't do anything differently. The leak was never enough to actually cause any dripping.
When rolling with the button face down, the tension would cause the extension rod I was using to loosen. This was quite annoying, but didn't effect painting and I can't attribute it entirely to this device.
That's all of the bad.
The good:
It took NO TIME AT ALL to paint a wall. I would press the button and quickly/lightly go over a ~4-5' section of wall. Then turn off the button and go back over the area spreading out the paint to full coverage. 2 coats of Shirwin Williams Emerald Satin paint and the walls were done.
There was next to no mess. My dropcloths that I laid out were generally clean at the end of this. With a standard roller, I've always spilled so much paint. With this, none.
The cleanup was seriously a breeze. I used the 2x5 gallon bucket method with some dish soap and walked away for 20 minutes. When I came back, I took a paper towel to some other areas when separating the roller and was done.
I'm so happy with this purchase and definitely recommend it for anyone who has a big paint job.
Tip: when switching colors, there will be will be water left in the hose. When you switch paint, run it over an empty bucket or container without a roller brush on the handle. Let the water drip out until you see thick paint, then put the roller on.
