Compare to Brinsea Incubators
First off, I have 47 years of incubation experience, I have purchased table top and cabinet incubators, for example the Brinsea Ova 390 and Sportsmen GQF. I have used about every table top incubator made, heck I even started with bulb incubators back in the 70's. Price price price, this machine cannot be beaten for the price. Top notch turning , smooth as silk. Humidity monitor, and water refill from outside the machine, many machines make you open them to add water. Built in candler, not that impressive as it is stationary making only fertility check a possibility, not much good for monitoring growth or identifying dead eggs late in incubation. And like everyone is saying, what's up with the temperature reading? Says 99.5 but it is not...its a little lower, as chicken eggs hatch one day late in the machine, but they hatch healthy., The price people, its crazy low, this machine works like a 200.00 machine. It hatches chicken eggs fine at 22 days every time. Needs a hatching mat or splayed feet result, pity hatch nice chicks to have them doing the splits because the manufacturer can't design a simple disposable carboard punch out hatching mat, really you can't hatch fowl on slippery plastic it ruins perfect chicks. Also don't forget when cleaning the machine that the engine for the turner is inside the bottom so DON'T FORGET WHEN CLEANING NOT TO SUBMERSE THE BOTTOME OF THE MACHINE, NOR THE TOP, UNLIKE OTHER TABLE TOPS THAT YOU CAN JUST SOAK THE BOTTOM TO CLEAN, NOT THIS ONE IT WILL RUIN THE TURNER. Anyway, plan on your eggs hatching a full day late, because the machine has a lower preset temp then 99.5 but lower is better then hotter, and most table tops this price will not hatch crap, this one does, with minimal effort. Its a good machine, needs some revamps in the next models, but a keeper and Brinsea needs to watch out here comes Kebonnix's. I am gidy about seeing what they come up with for a cabinet incubator, price and of course ability to hatch anything. If you want machines that hatch eggs, Brinsea always a win and the price from Brinsea always a loser, very expensive machines, but not as bad as RCOM machines, although they too hatch eggs, their price will bankrupt you, and the cheap copy cat machines that look like RCOM do NOT hatch anything .
I give this little machine a 4 out of 5. It will hatch a good fresh fertile egg a full day late, oh, one last super positive, the littler machine is VERY quiet, the turner is silent, unlike Brinsea or GQF. Now let's see a bigger version, as it only holds 12 eggs, duck or chicken size.
In the defense of the temp issue and day late hatches, remember the machine has a vent, close the vent 3/4 way until near hatch then open it 3/4 way. This reduces the late hatches, I think people are forgetting about the vent which is adjustable for the machine and either leaving wide open, or closed. It has a good vent, the manufacturer obviously spent some time with this vent. Many table top do not have this option and with people that know what they are doing, a vent can mean the difference between a good hatch and a sticky early or late hatch. This is why the monitoring of the humidity is important this little machine has the vent and the humidity monitoring making a perfect match for good hatches. Make a double effort to check that the machines top sits firmly on the base, turn the top like a clock and make sure it drops down and sits firmly on the base, otherwise the temp will not be correct and the turner will not turn. I bet the price starts to climb,
