Decently solid chair but not the most comfortable
** 6 month review at bottom ** Have had the chair for a week so far with 8+ hour uses each day. Not the best but not the worse chair I’ve had. Overall, I like the chair. Can’t complain too much at this price point. I was more concerned that the materials will feel cheap, like the plastic but it’s pretty sturdy. It’s decently comfortable if you sit properly. -=-=-=-=-=-=- Here is an in-depth review: — Seat cushion (2/5 stars): The seat cushion isn’t great — unless you sit properly at all times, any weird sitting position will be uncomfortable (i.e if you sit on your legs). If you happen to seat near the middle or front end of the chair and you usually have tailbone pain, you’ll likely get it with this chair. After receiving the chair, within an hour of use, the foam is already dented and does not fully return to its original form. After a few days, I can feel the unevenness on the seat, even after several hours of not using it. Pretty sure it’s permanent now. I’ve purchased a seat cushion to combat this issue. For comparison, I’m 150lb, 5’10”. The seat cushion is about 1.5" thick, you can easily feel the base plate. — Arms (4/5 stars): It was solid and worked perfectly when I first used it. However, due to the arm mechanism, the nut holding the arm in place can get loose if you move the arm up and down often. I found this happen more with one side than the other. Took the arm off and tighten the nut but that only fixed the issue temporarily. After moving the arm a few times, the nut got loose again causing the arm to just fall down and wobble. IF YOU ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE — here’s a fix I've found to worked for me. Go to your local hardware store and find a pack of flat washers and locking washers (washers with uneven/bent ends). The flat washer should be no larger than 7/8” (outer diameter). Internal diameter of the washer should be 3/8”. Remove the arm from the chair and remove the nut. Keep the existing flat washer in place and place a locking washer on top and a new flat washer after. Place the nut back and hand tighten snug. The order should be Flat Washer > Locking Washer > Flat Washer > Hex Nut on the arm’s through-bolt. I’m able to move the arm repeatedly now without it ever getting loose or wobbly. The manufacturer is however aware of this issue and is fixing it as far as I know. So please contact them if you are having this issue if you find that my fix isn’t working. Once my issue was fixed, I’ve find that the arm is pretty solid. The mechanism that allows the arm to rotate is limited by the plastic used to make the chair (if you disassemble the arm, you’ll see what I mean). The plastic is pretty solid, but I wouldn’t put my entire weight on the arm. Who knows, maybe it’s capable of supporting it but I don’t want to risk it. — Mesh Back / Lumbar Support (4/5 stars): There’s not much to complain about for me. It’s comfortable when you have your back against it. But I didn’t notice anything that stood out to me. The lumbar support is pretty non-existent, I don’t even feel it. So if you really need lumbar support, this might not be the best chair for you. — Hydraulic Cylinder (5/5 stars): So far (within a week of use), I haven’t had any issue with it. The chair will very slightly compress when you sit on it, but nothing significant. But I know that I’ll likely won’t see any issue until later down the line. So I’ll try to update this after more use. — Customer Support (5/5 stars): Prior to fixing the arm myself, I contacted them about it and they were pretty fast at responding (within a few hours). Pretty professional and was diligent in making sure my issue was resolved by offering a couple of solutions. So if you do happen to have any issue with your chair, I wouldn’t hesitate contacting them to see how they will help. Would I recommend this or purchase it again at this price point ($139.99)? Yes. ________________________ 6 Month Review (over 1000 hrs of use): With the arm fixed I proposed above, it’s been flawless. No issues with it at all, no wiggle and not lose. That was one the biggest things I feared. Most chairs I bought, it ended up wiggling a lot after a while and couldn’t hold itself up anymore. So glad this one hasn’t had this issue yet. Hydraulic cylinder still works great. No squeaks either when reclining back and forth or swiveling. Still happy with this chair! Would still recommend it. ________________________ 8 Month Update: Typical usage. Chair is starting to creek and make a bit of noise when you rock back and forth. The back mesh is a bit loose now but nothing too bad. Hydraulics still performing as before.
