Very helpful, especially for a beginner
I had always wanted a serger but I didn't know why because I never really knew what it did. This book really explains it in easy to understand language. It's full of tips and techniques for a variety of fabrics, applications and machines.
I got this at the same time as my first serger. It makes an excellent supplement to the manual. A serger can go from a multitasking, valuable sewing must-have to a maddening wad of tangled thread torture device in a matter of seconds. This book is the only thing that came between my serger and a baseball bat on several occasions.
If you're new to serging, get this and start reading it before you even open the serger box. Even if you're an experienced serger ("serger-er?" "Serger operator?"), I bet you'll find alot of helpful info in it that you'll wonder how you ever did without.
