Great bread with different recipe than one that comes in instruction manual.
When I first started making bread with the recipe that comes with the machine, I was very disappointed. The bread was dry and crumbly and I wasn't happy with it at all. So I searched the internet and found a recipe that everyone was raving about and now my bread is wonderful! I make several loaves a week and am very happy with the results.
As far as the machine goes, I find it very easy to operate and clean. The only thing I would change about it is to have a light in the settings window.
Here's the recipe I now use for my bread machine. Try it. You'll love the results.
BASIC WHITE BREAD ~ makes 2 pound loaf
Ingredients:
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 teaspoons or 1 package of bread machine yeast
2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar
1/4 cup oil (I use olive oil.)
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
3 level cups of bread machine flour. (I use King Arthur bread machine flour. I really like it better than any other bread flour I've used
I put my sugar in first then I pour the 1 cup of warm water into bread machine pan over the sugar. Next add your yeast, close the lid of the machine and let the yeast foam in the water for about 10 minutes. Then add in your oil, flour and salt. That's it. Now set your machine for 2 lb loaf, light crust and turn it on. In 3 1/2 hours you'll have the best bread you've ever tasted.
Good luck and enjoy your bread.
