Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

So, I read all the reviews and wondered how on earth they could be so disparate. I mean, big time. There aren't many in the middle. People love them or think they are absolutely useless. I figured there had to be a reason. I decided to go ahead and try them and see how it went. I can always return, right? They work great. If you follow directions. The little line in the corner of the bag that says not to fill beyond it? They aren't playin. If you fill beyond that, you mess up the suction. Those little slides they give you to help seal the bag? They're there for a real reason. Use them. I thought I had one sealed, but it wasn't shrinking. I double checked it. Still nothing. Then I used the slide. Turns out, I didn't seal it as well as I thought. It worked fine. I actually have gone a little bonkers. I've used 98% of the bags included, and I haven't even touched my freezer. I got on here to order more bags, then thought I should probably write a review! As of right now, I would absolutely purchase again (I know, obvious since I'm buying more bags!). If I find they don't maintain their seal, I'll update. Update: anything that ripens or emits a gas doesn't do great. Don't put bananas in one! I also had fresh green beans, already washed and cleaned, blow the seal. It works great on cheeses, things like pepperoni, butter (keeps it from absorbing all the fridge smells!!), etc. Not great with things with moisture - the moisture gets sucked into the pump.
