I think the other reviewers are only using the bottom coat without the top coat (which is another ~$100 UltraTech 4001 Ultra-Ever Dry Top Coat, 1 Quart, Translucent White ) and thus the coating comes off and you dont see the super-hydrophobic properties last very long. I used this stuff (using both top and bottom coat) in our lab and it was amazing to see in action though not cost effective for what we were doing. It does indeed work but there are some issues you should be wary of. 1. Smell: You need lots of ventilation. Make sure you use it outside and you use a gasmask. The smell is very overwhelming 2. The coating is not clear. It is opaque/translucent-white and it essentially produces a "skin" on the item you coat. That "skin" can be scratched off if you scrape hard. We were coating glass. 3. The recommended spray bottles are not necessary. I used cheap 1$ pump style spray bottles and they worked fine. 4. The coatings can damage the material you are spraying so you should be careful.
