I am an African American female with a relaxer (about 10 weeks into transitioning), I also purchased this product for my mother and sister who both have natural hair (3a and 4b respectively, if you are aware of hair textures) All three of us love this product! The fabric is soft and not only leaves my facial skin feeling soft and smooth, it has also helped my hair. I don't have to worry about my hair getting caught in the fabric of the pillow. I am not saying that this product will keep your hair in place as you sleep, no pillow will do that, but I can definitely tell that this pillow case is helping ease the tension off my hair from regular cotton pillow cases. The material is not as absorbent as cotton, thus I am not losing major oils that I place within my hair. I have had this product for about 5-6 weeks now and I can honestly say that my hair has more of a natural shine to it. I think this is because of the oil actually staying in my hair, and I do not see as much breakage or shedding that I would with a cotton pillow case. The hidden zipper is also a great feature, it doesn't interfere with my sleep at all and it ensures that no matter how much I move my pillow around, the case stays on my pillow. The only small downside is that there is a small amount of oil (that I have applied to my hair) that stains the pillow case. I intentionally purchased a chocolate brown and it hides any small oil stains well. After a cold delicate wash and air drying, my pillow case is still working great. If you're an African American or anyone who is concerned about maintaining the natural oils needed for you hair or skin I suggest you give this product a try. It's not a magic beauty secret, but it will help :)
