ONLY Perfect filter: 100% clean water BUT must change it FREQUENTLY
This is the best filter out there. Period. BUT there's one small disadvantage.
Some people report a smell after some use. This ONLY happens when it is time to change it. If only these people would measure their water with the device included in the ZeroWater kit they would know.
The REASON for the smell is that this filter unlike other brands filters out EVERYTHING 100% of everything. No other brand can do that, BUT a downside to this is that it needs to be changed frequently. For me I need to replace it once a month. And IT NEVER SMELLS because I measure the quality of the water, as soon as it goes above 007 parts per billion I change it.
FYI: PUR Water filters measure out at over 30 parts per billion. Which is the same as average water bottle. That is why it last so much longer.
ZeroWater gives you PERFECT 000 parts per billion when it is new, but the filter is larger and wastes much faster.
For me, having the BEST Filter out there is WELL WORTH THE MONEY OF NEEDING TO CHANGE FREQUENTLY.
But do NOT take my word for it. Use the measuring device and test for yourself.
Unfiltered TAP water in New Jersey ranges between 190 and 260 parts per billion. In NY it is much higher, so obviously in certain places the filter would waste much faster.
One trick to save money and avoid this is to first filter tap water with a cheap filter like Pur or Brita and get the 200+ number down to less than 50. THEN put that water into the ZeroWater filter. If you do this it will last you 6 TIMES LONGER, and you will always get FAR cleaner water than you can get in anything, including water bottles.
TEST YOURSELF. The ZeroWater measuring pen comes included with the main unit, or just buy it separately. It is cheap and well worth it.
