Was skeptical, but now I love it
The stuff below the ----- is for my Yeti150, I don't know why it is showing 400, just bought the 400 this weekend. It is a shorter review in between the ----. 4/19/16 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So my Yeti150 died after years of faithful service. So I swapped out the battery in February. It has been going well again. However I decided it was time to carry more power. So I donated they 150 to the nephew for his summer fun and went to Costco over the weekend and picked up the 400. This thing is a beast! I have already run a bunch of "tests" on it and it keeps humming right along. I can't wait to try the blender on the boat this summer(300w, should be fine since this is 400w constant 600w surge). I have found an ice maker at 120w that compliment this nicely. I was almost swayed as Anker came out with their "PowerHouse" at a 1/3 of the weight and supposed same power. I was told by them that all would be made "clear" when they launched. It wasn't. I am glad I went this past weekend and picked this up. While Anker makes nice battery packs for phones, GoalZero makes tools for keeping your off grid entertainment flowing. 4/16 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I was skeptical at first. Was this going to last? Is it going to be enough? When I first unboxed it and plugged in to charge (no less than 10 warnings about charging on/in/all over the box) the wall charger made an annoying hum. Actually it was super annoying, I could hear it clear across the house. Quick email to customer service and they sent another one. That was re-assuring that they would stand behind this. The noisy charger did its job though and I have since recycled it. Now, for the real test, will it charge my other devices like advertised. The answer is YES! I can't comment on if it will do an iPad 6 times like they claim, but it has charged my iPad (new with Retina) twice along with running a 12v fan for 4 hours (.75Ah draw) and still had some in the bank. I don't know how accurate the LCD on the front it, but it showed 20%. I will be running this through a bunch of tests in two weeks when I go offshore and will have more then. For now, it is pretty solid even if it is on the pricey end. However with everything they have packed in (12v cigarette plug, 12v plug, USB, 120 inverter) and the solid feel, this is definitely a winner if you need a "wall outlet" away from civilization. **Update 2/16** Someone asked about battery replacement, it is super simple. 4 screws and lift top and swap out the battery and re-secure. It honestly took 30 seconds. It is now going strong like day 1. Inexpensive fix every two-three years I can deal with. I also don't know how much is my abuse as well, the boat gets hot and this thing spends all summer there.
