What a fun way to spruce up a letter! 3 nuggets of wax is perfect for one stamp. Two (as you can see in the pic) just wasn’t enough. I cleaned the spoon out after each stamp. For a multicolored stamp I just melted different colors without mixing them. The candle/spoon holder does get hot and it is wood. I’m not surprised one reviewer said theirs started on fire. I only did three stamps and I wouldn’t be comfortable doing a whole stack of letters or walking away without blowing the candle out and letting it all cool down. I left the stamp in place for about 10 seconds while I cleaned the spoon. Never did I press the stamp hard into the wax. It is heavy enough to fall into the wax and make a great print. I tried peeling the wax from the paper and it wouldn’t budge so I’m confident it will make it through the mail just fine.
