I am *SO* glad I bought this. I originally bought it because we have two brand-new kittens, and I want to encourage them to scratch posts, not furniture. But it's actually been the hammock that's the big attraction. Both kittens love it, and often curl up in it together. But my 13-year-old cat loves it too, and I find him curled up in it quite often. Who could blame them? It's ridiculously soft and fluffy! I really, really appreciate its stability. My 13-year-old cat is blind, and he's able to hop up into this confidently because it doesn't wobble in the slightest. The hammock frame is very solid, and I could see this lasting for years. My older cat is only 9 pounds, but this is so sturdy and stable I could easily see a 15 pound + cat being able to enjoy it. It was easy as heck to put together - took 2 minutes or less. The one and only negative was that the kittens yanked the toy off the string in a day or two, but that's no big deal. (Hey, they still play with the string! :-) Even if the kittens destroy the scratching posts eventually, I'd still keep this for the hammock.
