Other 5 star reviews here are 100% true. The leather, is real leather, it smells like real leather, looks and feels like it. There was no bad smell, beyond what a tannery smells like after a long hard day of making leather bags and boots. This bag holds a ridiculous amount of stuff well packed and neatly folded. When empty the bag collapses to the size of a cowboy boot box by chance. Easily stows in any dresser drawer or closet shelf. The care taken in individually (twice!) wrapping EVERY piece of antique brass hardware goes well beyond conscientious...they want this bag to show up exactly as it left the factory...into truly obsessive territory. Speaking of territories, prepare to line out for any. You look and feel like a world explorer with this bag, Dr. Jones. Chart new territories, make red line flight paths. What a gorgeous addition, or replacement carry on for the active extended stay. Love the extra large side pockets, double zippers are where it's at. Plus the smaller buckle pockets, you are covered, from revolver (you know what a cautious guy I am Markus), to compass, to bull whip, bowie knife, cigars (legally of course), aspirin, toothbrush, comb, shave kit, straight razor w/real soap, brush, and cup, biblical medallion with a ruby in the center, parchment map rolls, etc. Good luck getting some of those items on a flight, or just drive...it fits in any trunk and improves it. Lastly, and most importantly the hardware at the all important shoulder straps seems superb. I dig this this bag from top to bottom archeological adventurer style. Everything but the hat. Don't hesitate, grab one now before quality or quantity go anywhere. Seriously.
