I've had one of these vacuums for almost 10 years now. I ended up with this one after trying out a couple of other ones but returning them because they were too loud. This model is a lot quieter. I have found that the vacuum on this model quickly degrades once the filter starts to get clogged up and that happens quickly because the dirt enters the can right below the filter. To minimize this problem I was able to make a flow director that now pushes incoming dirt to the bottom of the filter cannister. I also designed a baffle out of an old household air vent that stops the incoming air from stirring up the dust once it gets to the bottom of the can. Total cost of the pieces was only $10 and now I rarely ever have to clean the filter and the vacuum sucks harder for longer.
