We purchased this to go in a guest room that I didn't want to have a dedicated bed out all year when we only have guests rarely. The material is good heavy wood and the piece is very sturdy. Only downside was a few of the bolts were a hair too short, so we had to make a trip to Lowes to find some longer ones. We got it together in the end, but I docked a star for it. The memory foam mattress is firm and comfortable. The whole setup feels sturdy, and I don't worry about guests not being comfortable. The drawer underneath holds the bedding, so its very convenient. Be aware the boxes are VERY heavy, so be prepared once they are delivered. Mine was delivered with no chips or scratches and was packaged really well to protect the wood.
