This a/c unit puts out a lot of cold air but I also use my room fan to circulate the air. It says 10 thousand btu's but it's more like 12000 btu's. I had to lift it once to drain it, it's pretty heavy. I spoke with the seller and they assured me that I should never have to really drain it, just change the mode from a/c to dry. I really think it uses very little energy and my room is about 8x8 feet and usually about 12 feet high. It cools off my whole room quickly.
